An oasis in the city. The House of Peace was founded in 1968 in response to unrest that rocked Milwaukee and other American cities in the late 1960s. The Capuchins and their partners in ministry seek to address basic spiritual and human needs, especially the need for food, while also seeking address underlying structural causes of social
